The role
The position of Manager Technical Quality plays a crucial role in the operational and strategic framework of Auto & General's Motor Claims department.
This role is not only pivotal in managing and enhancing the Quality and Standards capabilities within Motor Assessing but also in driving the organization's culture and achieving key business outcomes, particularly in the context of motor claims assessing.
Specific knowledge and a deep understanding of Repair Methods and AQA / Leakage Measurement are needed for the role, ensuring that quality assurance activities are based on industry-leading practices.
This position is central to ensuring that the organization not only meets its current operational targets but is also well-positioned to respond to future challenges and opportunities in the insurance industry.

- Leadership and Multi-site Management: Demonstrates the need for experienced leadership capable of overseeing complex operations, likely involving diverse teams and geographical locations.
- Travelling: Local, National and International travel as required. A tool of trade will be supplied for local activities, including but not limited to any auditing activities as scheduled or requested.
- Repair Methods and AQA/Leakage Measurement: Specific knowledge requirements indicate the technical depth needed for the role, ensuring that training and quality assurance are based on industry-leading practices.
- Strategic Planning and Relationship Building: These skills are essential for both internal management and external stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment across various levels of the organization and with industry partners.
- Reporting/Analysis, Communication, and Negotiation Skills: These competencies underline the importance of data-driven decision-making, clear internal and external communication, and the ability to effectively negotiate and manage resources.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade qualified in Panelbeating, Spraypainting, Mechanic or CERT IV Motor Vehicle Loss Assessing.
- Minimum 5 years experience as an assessor.
- Specific knowledge requirements indicate the technical depth needed for the role, ensuring that training and quality assurance are based on industry-leading practices.
- Proficient in the use of excel and word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer & quote package literate.
- Strong planning and organisational ability.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Diploma of Quality Auditing BSB50920.
