THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced Senior Environmental Advisors to join the team at Ora Banda.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

• Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System including management plans and procedures
• Maintain all environmental awareness and training materials such as induction content and other training resources and deliver training as needed.
• Identify and manage environmental risk
• Ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, licences, permits and other statutory requirements
• Practically manage all planned environmental disturbance and clearance activities
• Maintain accurate environmental records, registers and databases
• Coordinate and prepare environmental reports (NPI, NGERS, CPS Annual Reports, PPL Annual Reports and AERs)
• Participate in the development of Case Studies and Data Collection and Analysis for company sustainability reporting.
• Assist in the development of Mine Closure Plans and Progressive Rehabilitation Plans
• Conduct internal environmental compliance audits and inspections and recommend corrective actions
• Engage and coordinate external contractor as needed to assist operations with the collection and removal of waste and other third-party activities such as pest control.
• Lead reporting on all observed environmental incidents and non-compliances, investigate and recommend improvements
• Oversee surface water, groundwater, waste, dust and any other environmental monitoring programs
• Supervision of contractors and consultants as required
• Supervision, leadership and mentoring of Environmental Technician
• Liaise and provide support to managers, supervisors, employees and contractors in all environment-related matters
• Maintain site environmental facilities, tools and monitoring systems/consumables to ensure they meet operational requirements
• Support community engagement prorammes on environmental matters
• Promoting a culture of environmental sustainability and responsibility across the operations
• Manage and report on human hygiene issues such as potable water, noise, dust and heat as required

ABOUT YOU
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:  

• Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or related discipline
• 5+ years in a similar environmental role, ideally within the mining or resource sector
• Strong understanding of WA mining and environmental legislation
• Computer literacy and experience with GIS software
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Current WA manual driver's licence
• A First Aid qualification is desirable
