Electronics Build Technician – R&D, Prototyping & Validation
Help build next-generation power electronics in a fast-moving technology development environment.
This role is perfect for a hands-on technician who loves solving problems in the lab, working on early-stage hardware, and bringing new electronic designs to life.
Why This Role Exists
A leading technology development company is expanding its hardware team and needs an Electronics Build Technician who has worked in
R&D, product development, prototyping, and validation
environments, not just production assembly.
You'll work alongside engineers to build, test, modify, and validate complex electronic systems used in advanced power-conversion technology. If you enjoy figuring things out when documentation isn't perfect, collaborating in the lab, and iterating through design cycles, you'll thrive here.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will work at the intersection of engineering and product development:
- Build and modify
prototype electronic hardware
, from PCB assemblies through to subsystem builds - Set up and run
validation and product-development test procedures - Diagnose faults and support
root-cause investigations
on complex electronic systems - Work closely with engineers to refine designs, test new concepts, and solve hardware challenges
- Assist in developing
test methods, documentation, and validation procedures - Support continuous improvement in how hardware is built, tested, and verified
This is
not
a repetitive production assembly role—every week brings a different problem to solve.
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who can think like a technician
and
like an engineer:
Essential
- Experience working in a
R&D lab, test engineering environment, prototype workshop, or product development team - Strong skills in fault-finding, debugging, and validating
microcontroller-based and power-electronic systems - Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering documentation
- Hands-on technical ability: soldering, rework, PCB assembly, test equipment operation (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies, etc.)
- Confidence working on early-stage hardware where documentation may evolve
- A mindset of curiosity, precision, and continuous improvement
Highly Regarded
- Experience with product validation cycles
- Exposure to developing test procedures or test documentation
- Familiarity with Altium or similar tools
- Understanding of EMC, electrical safety, or high-power electronics
Why You'll Love It
- Work on real hardware that is still being designed and improved
- Collaborate daily with engineers and influence how products are built
- A supportive environment that values innovation, experimentation, and practical problem-solving
- Opportunities for technical growth and exposure to advanced power-electronics technology
- Located in Brisbane with on-site parking and no city traffic
If This Sounds Like You…
You want to build more than just products, you want to build
better technology
.
If you enjoy testing, experimenting, troubleshooting, and helping engineers turn ideas into working prototypes, we'd love to talk.
Apply now and join a team where your hands-on expertise truly shapes the technology of tomorrow. Apply today.
