About the role:

As part of our ongoing expansion, we are looking for a casual Intern QA Engineer to be part of our team of smart, diverse, talented and passionate people The team comprises high-performing lean scrum teams that utilise agile frameworks and are passionate about knowledge sharing. We enjoy working in an open, collaborative and challenging environment, where each person can question, challenge and have a voice while working with leading technologies.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and assume responsibility for analysing, preparing, and executing testing tasks related to projects and releases. Your role also involves assessing product quality and associated documentation.

This is a great opportunity for a student looking for career progression towards core development or in the test automation space.

Responsibilities:

  • Functional testing (primarily manual) across projects and products, along with test automation.
  • Understand test automation patterns, practices, and architectural styles and how and when to apply them
  • Work effectively as part of the team – proactively seek out information and build productive working relationships
  • Identify and log defects, work with development to resolve, and verify fixes when implemented
  • Understand priorities and work with the team in meeting set deadlines
  • Follow the test process, execute planned test runs, consolidate and update test results
  • Review and contribute to the documentation

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science or Business or Engineering
  • Good understanding of Web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3,JavaScript & TypeScript
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • High passion for technology and good technical skills
  • Knowledge of Agile practices, especially Scrum and continuous integration
  • Self-starter who has a high passion for technologies, a quick learner, can multi-task and has strong analytical skills.
  • Works well in a team environment but is also able to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Anticipated graduation date no later than December 2027

Desirable:

  • Good understanding of QA concepts
  • Experience testing Web and Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and AWS
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS & React
  • Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL) and key-value databases (DynamoDB)
