About the Role

This is a key leadership position that combines estimating and operational duties with strategic oversight, team management, customer relations and trade coordination. You'll work closely with internal staff, clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on budget and to the highest standards of quality and service.

The role suits someone from a residential construction background who can confidently manage internal workflows, lead people and build strong, trusting relationships with clients and trades alike all while making smart commercial decisions that support business performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist sales and design teams by providing technical advice and support during quoting and contract stages
  • Use sound business judgment to support planning, budgeting and continuous improvement
  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates and quotations for residential home builds
  • Work closely with suppliers and trades to ensure competitive pricing and clearly defined scopes of work
  • Oversee internal administrative processes, including contracts, permits, building approvals and scheduling
  • Streamline operational workflows to improve project delivery and team efficiency
  • Lead, mentor and support a small internal team across estimating, client services and admin
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
  • Act as the main client liaison throughout the pre-construction period
  • Provide expert guidance and clear communication to ensure client satisfaction and trust
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and contribute to maintaining healthy margins

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded leader who is customer-focused, highly organised, highly motivated and confident working across many parts of the residential construction process. In addition, the following skills, attributes and experience will be highly sort after;

  • Solid experience in the residential building sector - ideally in estimating, operations, or project coordination
  • Strong understanding of construction timelines, cost structures and supplier/trade engagement
  • Previous experience with Databuild or similar software programs
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, trades, consultants and internal teams
  • Skilled in leading and developing small teams with a hands-on and supportive leadership style
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of budgets, profitability and operational efficiency
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Extremely motivated with a high willingness to succeed
