Are you a highly technical Surveyor with a passion for driving commercial growth and leading strategic client engagements? This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven technical leader to move into a high-impact, client-facing management role where your deep knowledge of surveying and geospatial technology will be the key to success.
Key Responsibilities: Leveraging Surveying Insight for Business GrowthAs the Surveying Manager, you will bridge the technical expertise of your team with the commercial needs of major clients across Victoria, primarily focusing on complex digital spatial and Reality Capture solutions.
- Business Development: Proactively identify, pursue, and secure significant Surveying, Reality Capture, and Digital Engineering opportunities, positioning your technical knowledge directly in front of key customers and decision-makers.
- Strategic Consulting: Serve as a trusted advisor, shaping and consulting with clients on the strategic application and delivery of complex digital spatial solutions, drawing heavily on your foundational understanding of surveying principles and workflows.
- Team Leadership: Establish, manage, mentor, and develop a talented technical team, fostering growth and expertise in cutting-edge surveying and geospatial technologies.
- Project Oversight: Oversee and manage all project elements, including pricing, timeframes, and quality delivery across a diverse portfolio of spatial projects.
- Innovation: Maintain deep awareness of industry trends and the future of geospatial/surveying technologies, supporting national collaboration efforts to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of the sector.
The ideal candidate will combine technical authority in surveying with exceptional commercial acumen, capable of translating complex spatial solutions into clear business value for major customers.
- Mandatory Surveying Foundation: A foundational degree or background in Surveying is essential. We are seeking a commercial leader whose success is built on a deep, technical understanding of surveying principles.
- Technical Authority in Surveying: Intimately familiar with and a recognized expert in modern Surveying and Geospatial technologies (e.g., LiDAR, Reality Capture, Digital Twins, advanced field methods).
- Proven Commercial Success: Demonstrated ability to significantly strengthen client relationships and successfully pursue and close major opportunities, leveraging your technical background to build trust.
- Sector & Consulting Experience: Experience in a fast-paced consulting environment, ideally within the surveying, engineering, or infrastructure sector (e.g., individuals with a background from firms like Woolpert, Jacobs, WSP, or similar large consulting outfits).
- Leadership & Communication: Polished communication and presentation skills are essential, with proven experience in managing, mentoring, and growing technical teams.
