Pewag is a global chain manufacturing company that predominantly services the mining and industrial sectors. The head office is situated in Austria. The company employees 3500 employees worldwide and has a history that dates back over 500. pewag Australia is a direct subsidiary of the company formed in 2012 and services Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region.

The Role

We are currently seeking the services of an accountant who will be responsible for the accounting requirements of a small subsidiary that operates within a large global company. The desired applicant will be comfortable conducting business internationally and still have the diligence to perform a range of small office accountancy tasks. Generally, the desired applicant will deal with all financial related responsibilities of the company. The successful person will work closely with the Director to ensure the business is in a consistently sound position and submit complex financial reports to our European head office.

The company utilises SAP and preferences will be considered for applicants with this experience.  Strong salary dependent on experience - $85k - $100k

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare BAS and other conformance documents to ensure companies comply with all governing laws and regulations
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting package
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Implement improved processes and controls including audit recommendations and cost saving initiatives
  • Management of stock in transit, stock takes and other inventory related transactions
  • Management of credit insurance, debtors, accounts payable and Payroll duties

The successful applicant will possess:

Relevant tertiary qualifications

SAP software desirable

Advanced Excel skills

Strong technical accounting and analytical skills

Strong budgeting and reporting skills

Excellent communication skills

Excellent ability to liaise collaboratively with all staff

Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years' experience and should be confident in their ability to perform the role autonomously.

Ability to work at times outside Australian business hours with our Austrian head office

Priority will be given for an immediate starter.
