Project Manager – Tiling & Stone (Absolute Tiling & Stone, part of Versatile Group)

Absolute Tiling & Stone (ATS), part of the Versatile Group, is a values-driven contractor specialising in premium tiling and stonework across some of Australia's most dynamic construction projects. We are recognised for our commitment to quality, safety, and delivery. With a strong pipeline ahead, we are seeking a Project Manager to take ownership of tiling and stone projects from conception through to handover. This is a skilled leadership position that requires both proven experience and advanced technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all project phases including planning, budgeting, implementation, and close-out.
  • Review tender documentation, scope, and design drawings to develop project delivery strategies.
  • Prepare and manage detailed programs, sequencing, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate with estimators, architects, head contractors, and consultants to finalise shop drawings and approvals.
  • Manage subcontractor engagement, procurement, and performance to ensure delivery against budgets and schedules.
  • Lead WHSE on all ATS sites, promoting a zero-harm culture and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Monitor site progress, conduct inspections, and ensure quality workmanship in line with Australian Standards and ATS benchmarks.
  • Track project costs in real time, prepare monthly reports, and validate subcontractor claims and supplier invoices.
  • Oversee defect management and ensure timely rectification during the Defects Liability Period.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, builders, and consultants, providing transparent updates and building strong relationships.
  • Plan and coordinate material deliveries to minimise wastage and storage issues.
Competencies & Experience

To be considered, you must have:

  • A minimum of 3–5 years' proven experience in project management within tiling, stone, or broader construction projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated industry experience).
  • Strong technical capability with systems including Jobpac, Buildlogic, Payapps, Procore, Aconnex, and MS Projects.
  • Expert knowledge of Work Health, Safety & Environment (WHSE) practices and advanced understanding of Australian Building Codes and Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead site teams and subcontractors, resolve complex project issues, and deliver to strict time, cost, and quality standards.

You will also demonstrate excellent leadership, problem-solving, negotiation, and organisational skills. Adaptability, commercial acumen, and a commitment to service excellence are critical. Most importantly, you will thrive in a culture built on ownership, agility, and high performance, where "our pulse is excellence" and "your future is in safe hands."

Why Join Us?

This role is a full-time, permanent position based in Australia and is classified as a skilled occupation under Australian immigration requirements. It offers genuine career progression within the Versatile Group, a business known for building high-performing teams and delivering outstanding outcomes across construction and development.
