ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary function of the Family Preservation Senior Case Manager is to provide parenting education and support to vulnerable families to minimise the risk of significant harm (ROSH) to children and reduce the overall incidence of child abuse and neglect in the community.

Through intensive case management interventions the program aims are for children to:

grow up in a safe, nurturing family

  • have enhanced health and education measures of wellbeing
  • And for parents to:
  • have the skills to increase the safety, welfare and wellbeing of their children
  • understand how to foster healthy development and resilience
  • know how to access community supports
  • develop the skills to manage the worries and vulnerabilities that contribute to risk

Criteria:

  • Qualification in a social science or community services and/or specialised skills sufficient to perform at this level.
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Satisfactory Criminal record check.
  • Current Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Significant experience in an associated field.
  • Understanding and experience of working with Aboriginal people and their communities.
  • Previous experience of case management
  • Demonstrated experience in case planning and coordination of people with complex support needs.
