Position Overview:

The Senior Engineer - DevSecOps Engineer shall be responsible for the execution of DevSecOps activities within HDA's (Hanwha Defence Australia) Software Engineering team.

Primary Duties:

  • Deploy and maintain the HDA Secure Software Development Environment (SSDE).
  • Support the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) of the HDA Software development team.
  • Update and maintain all SSDE and SSDLC documentation.
  • Provide technical input and guidance to technical stakeholders and their teams
  • Provide technical input to the management and scheduling of technical activities
  • Engage stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Where tasked, act as an owner of the SSDE and SSDLC and report on progress against deliverables, proposed activities, risks and issues, and key priorities
  • Perform other duties where required by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering, IT or Science discipline with relevant industry or domain work experience.
  • AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer – Associate

Highly desirable:

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty

Experience:

  • Professional experience on taking ownership of the DevSecOps cycle, preferably in a Defence environment.
  • Professional experience in: AWS administration, design and security; AWS CLI; Containers; Docker; GitLab; CI/CD pipeline; Sonatype Nexus; Bash; PowerShell; Terraform; Ansible and network configuration.
  • Proficient experience in integrating Software running on both Windows and Linux.
  • Proficient experience on both Windows and Linux hardening.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage relationships and positively resolve disputes with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Meticulous approach to work, with the ability to identify potential risks and issues proactively.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and can be flexible to meet the needs of the organisation and other team members.
  • Skilled in supporting design reviews, V&V programs, test planning, conduct, and reporting.
  • Flexible and adaptability, as you'll be expected to quickly pivot and respond to changing priorities and dynamic work environments.
