About us

Wing Hong Foods is a family-owned food manufacturing business based in Botany currently seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant / Technical Co-ordinator to join their team.

About the role

As the Quality Assurance Assistant / Technical Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring established Quality and Food Safety standards are met throughout the business by maintaining, monitoring and supporting the HACCP and Quality Management Systems.

This is an entry-level position that will suit a recent graduate and will provide an excellent opportunity to participate in a multi-discipline role.

Duties will include, but are not limited to

  • Liaising with management, staff, suppliers & clients
  • Monitoring and training staff in Food Safety and Quality procedures
  • Assisting the production team with technical support & compliance
  • Assisting with mock recalls and traceability exercises
  • Co-ordinating micro testing of products with external laboratories
  • Verifying, filing and maintaining quality / production records
  • Overseeing equipment calibration
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Managing non-conformances
  • Maintaining SOPs
  • Contributing to continuous improvement

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Food Science or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
  • Computer literate (including use of Microsoft Office suite)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday 7:00am to approximately 4:00pm with the ability to work additional hours as required
