About Us:
Marriner Group is a dynamic family business that owns and operates five of Melbourne's most iconic theatres and live entertainment venues including Forum Melbourne, Princess Theatre, Regent Theatre, Comedy Theatre and the Plaza Ballroom.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, people-focused and proactive Security Team Leader to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of our venues during live music events, theatre performances, and corporate functions. The ideal candidate will also bring strong initiative and problem-solving skills, enabling them to respond effectively to dynamic situations and support the team in delivering exceptional service. You will report to the Head of Access and Security, as well as work alongside other venue managers, providing leadership and guidance to the team on the ground.
While your primary role will be as a Security Team Leader at Forum Melbourne, there will be opportunities to step up into a Security Supervisor position during busier periods. During quieter times, work across other Marriner Group venues will also be available in a general Security Guard capacity.
This variety offers a great balance of leadership experience and hands-on security work, all within Melbourne's most iconic entertainment spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service and uphold Marriner Group's reputation for professionalism and care for patrons.
Supervise and coordinate security staff during events to ensure compliance with venue policies and procedures.
Act as one of the primary points of contact for security-related issues during shifts.
Assist in briefing and debriefing security personnel.
Monitor crowd control, access points, and emergency exits to maintain a safe environment.
Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, escalating to management when necessary.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and licensing requirements.
Support the Head of Access and Security and Security Operations Manager with incident reporting.
Play an important role in a professional and dedicated security team
About You:
Minimum 2 years' experience in security roles, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Professional presentation and a calm, confident approach in high-pressure situations.
Sound knowledge of security operations, crowd management, and relevant legislation.
Ability to work autonomously and make quick, informed decisions.
Essential Requirements:
Current Victorian Private Security Individual Licence
Current First Aid Certificate
Current Police Check
Current Driver's Licence
Availability for nights, weekends, and shift work
