About the role:
The Senior Project Officer is located within the Centre for Victorian Data Linkage, Victoria's specialist data linkage agency. CVDL acquires and links together 40 plus administrative and clinical datasets for policy development and research purposes. CVDL acquires identifying information from multiple datasets to undertake its linkage function and stores this information within a specialist Azure linkage and integration infrastructure. CVDL also provides analysts and researchers with project specific access to deidentified linked data within the secure access environment, VALT.
The purpose of this role is to support the design, development, and operation of CVDL's data infrastructure, focusing on VALT. This role assists with implementing and maintaining VALT's Azure cloud infrastructure and delivering secure and scalable data solutions. The Senior Project Officer collaborates with IT staff and stakeholders to ensure the platform meets objectives and maintains high security, reliability, and privacy standards.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as information technology, analytics, cyber security is desirable
Specialist Expertise
- Experience in supporting data warehousing, ETL, and analytics from complex data sources.
- Proficiency in SQL and data integration tools (SSIS, Azure data factory).
- Ability to document technical processes and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) is desirable.
- Knowledge of privacy, security, and data governance.
