The Division provides essential corporate support services, systems, and resources to Members and electorate office staff—forming the foundation for effective, front-line service delivery by more than 330 staff across Queensland's 97 electorate offices.

As Principal Support Officer, you will work closely with the Team Leader to strengthen coordination between internal service teams and electorate offices. The role includes contributing to projects, supporting training and communications, analysing business processes, and preparing documentation. You'll engage across teams to ensure practical, informed support aligned with service expectations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of strategies that enhance service coordination.
  • Conduct detailed research and contribute to process analysis and documentation.
  • Prepare draft reports and briefings for review.
  • Assist in operational project delivery across electorate office initiatives.
  • Create and refine learning materials and support communication efforts.
  • Coordinate induction and training-related administrative tasks.
  • Provide secretariat support for committees, working groups, and project teams.

About You

You have a collaborative, practical approach and an understanding of electorate office operations. You're confident communicating with stakeholders, contributing to service improvements, and supporting frontline staff. You bring experience in a government or client-focused environment and are skilled in building relationships, strategic thinking, and translating procedures into helpful support.

Highly desirable

  • Experience working in State or Commonwealth electorate offices or similar government/client-focused settings.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, human resources, education, communications, or project management.

Your Key Strengths

  • Ability to research, analyse and evaluate complex information.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in project planning and delivery.
  • Familiarity with electorate office functions and key operational challenges.
  • Ability to simplify complex procedural information for practical use.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team.

Why Join Us?
