Bondi Eatery Co Pty Ltd trading as Grumpy's Pizza Pasta Bar is looking for a Full-Time qualified chef to join our team.

Grumpy's aim is to provide an affordable, friendly, and a dining environment where the food is served in a caring yet professional manner. We genuinely try to understand our customer's dining needs and offer true southern Italian hospitality in a manner that will ensure the dining experience is both impressive and memorable. We have a great workplace culture, and our work is diverse and exciting. The successful applicant will be confident in their skills, motivated to perform and have:

  • responsible for the entire kitchen operation, this includes rostering, recruitment, costing, staffing, stock rotation, stock ordering and menu design.
  • planning and costing extensive menus
  • prioritize dietary requirement in menu planning
  • estimate food requirements, proportioning of food and proper presentation as per the guidelines
  • ordering and controlling kitchen stocks and quality maintenance of perishable items
  • converse with managers, supervisors, dietary specialists, and other kitchen staffs about operational and food preparation problems
  • delegate tasks to other staff within the kitchen
  • assist in hiring, train cooks and other staffs
  • monitor food stock and place orders when necessary
  • perform and counsel on cooking procedures and techniques
  • ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Skills:

  • proven work experience as a Chef
  • hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g., grillers and pasta makers)
  • leadership skills
  • excellent time management abilities
  • up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
  • familiarity with sanitation regulations

Working Hours: 38 hours / per week

Work experience: At least two years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Education/Skills:

Chef: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality

Salary: $70,000- $80,000+ Superannuation
