Job Description
- Permanent, Full Time
As a Genuine Student (GS) Officer, you will be responsible for evaluating and processing international student applications to determine if they meet the Genuine Student (GS) criteria as outlined by the Department of Home Affairs and Acknowledge Education's internal policies.
You will work closely with the Admissions, Sales and Compliance teams, education agents, and prospective students to ensure that all applications are assessed accurately, ethically, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess Genuine Student Requirement (GSR) applications to ensure students meet AE policies and visa requirements, including reviewing academic history, financial documents, and statements of purpose.
- Verify IELTS/PTE results and utilise CEP to evaluate qualifications against Australian education standards, supporting the assessment of genuine intent.
- Provide accurate, timely advice to prospective and current students, agents, and internal stakeholders to enhance the student experience.
- Manage enquiries via phone, email, and in person, ensuring professional and prompt responses while maintaining clear communication across teams.
- Support program administration, database and CRM management, and contribute to marketing initiatives, events, and other administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with excellent risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to liaise effectively across diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to handle a high volume of applications under tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of the Australian student visa framework, Genuine Student (GS) requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong administrative and technical skills (databases, CRM, reporting tools).
- Experience in a similar GS or compliance role in the international education sector, with knowledge of the ESOS Act (desirable).
- Cross-cultural communication skills, including multilingual abilities and familiarity with Nepal, the Philippines, and Vietnam (desirable).
