The opportunity:

Fitness & Lifestyle Group (FLG) is looking for a Modern Workplace & Cloud Lead to shape and execute FLG's modern workplace and Azure cloud strategy, with a focus on supporting the company's ongoing business growth and expansion into exciting new regions and markets.

L ead our dynamic Cloud E ngineers on the transformation of digital collaboration, productivity, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure, scalable, cost-effective, and innovative solutions that support FLG's business objectives , compliance requirements and evolving operational footprint. Your leadership expertise will shape innovative practices and fuel continuous improvement, making a lasting impact on FLG's success.

Key duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Strategic Leadership for Growth & Scalability

• Develop and own the vision, roadmap, and execution for FLG's modern workplace and Azure cloud environments, ensuring readiness for large-scale business growth and integration of new sites .

• Engineer for scale by designing and implementing cloud and workplace solutions that efficiently support rapid increases in users, endpoints, and locations, maintaining performance and reliability as FLG grows.

Cloud Cost Management

• Develop and implement cloud cost management strategies to optimize Azure and Microsoft 365 spend, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with business growth.

• Monitor, analyse, and report on cloud usage and costs, identifying opportunities for cost efficiency and recommending actions to reduce unnecessary expenditure.

Team Leadership & Offshore Contractor Management

• Lead and mentor a small team of offshore Cloud Engineers and Modern Workplace Engineers, ensuring effective delivery of cloud and workplace solutions.

• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team, leveraging offshore resources to support growth and integration activities.

Integration & Enablement

• Design and implement scalable cloud and workplace solutions to support the onboarding of new business units, locations, or teams, including identity management, endpoint security, and collaboration platforms.

• Develop integration playbooks, processes, and automation for rapid deployment of cloud services, user provisioning, and compliance controls across new sites.

Cloud & Modern Workplace Engineer

• Engineer and optimise Azure cloud infrastructure for business systems, virtual desktops, and collaboration platforms, with an emphasis on multi-region scalability and reliability.

• Lead proactive capacity planning for Azure resources, Microsoft 365 services, and endpoint

Operations & Continuous Improvement

• Oversee monitoring, reporting, and automation of cloud and workplace operations, ensuring performance and availability at scale.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standards (ISO 27001, PCI DSS) across all operations

About you:

Skills and experience:

• A few years in cloud, modern workplace, or IT leadership roles, ideally with experience in large-scale integration or rapid expansion environments.

• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, cloud networking, and high-availability environments.

• Proven experience in strategic planning, team leadership, and stakeholder management.

• Strong skills in automation, scripting (PowerShell, Python), infrastructure as code, and cloud security.

• Experience with CI/CD, containerization (Kubernetes), and configuration management.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technology integration for business growth, mergers, or large-scale onboarding.

• Experience in cloud cost management, budgeting, and financial governance .
