Medical Receptionist – Casual Position (with View to Permanent Part-Time)

Our busy and welcoming medical practice is looking to expand our Medical Reception team. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual for a casual position, initially to provide maternity leave coverage. However, we also anticipate ongoing need for additional support, and foresee the role extending beyond the maternity leave period.

Hours & Availability:

This role offers approximately 20–25 rostered hours per week, plus participation in a rotating Saturday roster and relief coverage as needed. Flexibility is essential, as the role also includes covering sick and annual leave for other staff members.


About the Role:

As a key member of our front desk team, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients, both in-person and over the phone. This fast-paced role supports our GPs and clinical team through a range of administrative and reception duties.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and assisting patients warmly and professionally
  • Managing phone enquiries and appointments
  • Supporting GPs and clinical staff with daily tasks
  • Ensuring accurate data entry and record keeping
  • Adhering to clinic policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a high standard of customer service

About You:

You'll thrive in this role if you are an adaptable and proactive team player who can remain calm and professional under pressure.

Key Requirements:

  • Medical reception experience highly regarded
  • Customer service experience essential
  • Excellent computer and data entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar programs
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • A warm, professional manner with a commitment to patient care
  • Well-presented, hard working, dependable, and team-oriented
