The Role

As the Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day operations across multiple client sites and the growth of the Contract Cleaning division. This role is a balance of operational leadership, business development, client engagement, and hands-on support to ensure contracts are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.

Your role will include:

  • Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across target markets.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to maximise repeat business and referrals.
  • Develop and deliver tailored proposals, presentations, and pitches to prospective clients.
  • Achieve sales and revenue targets in line with company growth objectives.

Tender & Contract Management

  • Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of tenders and bids.
  • Ensure all contracts are compliant, commercially viable, and managed effectively through their lifecycle.
  • Monitor contract performance, ensuring obligations are met and risks are managed.
  • Provide strategic input to pricing, contract structures, and service delivery models.

Team Recruitment & Leadership

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop team members to support growth objectives.
  • Create a high-performance culture with clear KPIs and accountability.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to the team.
  • Ensure workforce planning aligns with business expansion and client needs.

Commercial & Strategic Oversight

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on growth strategies and market positioning.
  • Analyse industry trends and competitor activities to inform business decisions.
  • Support operational excellence by aligning commercial goals with service delivery.
  • Report on sales pipeline, tender activity, and contract performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple cleaning contracts to meet client expectations and service KPIs.
  • Plan rosters, allocate resources, and manage workforce requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with WHSE standards and industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality audits, site inspections, and toolbox talks.
  • Prepare reports, billing information, and performance reviews.
  • Proactively address client or staff concerns with effective solutions.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities within existing contracts.

About You

We are looking for a commercially astute and people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.

You will bring:

  • 3+ years' experience as a Contracts Manager, Operations Manager, or similar with experience in contract cleaning services.
  • Demonstrated success in managing contracts, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills.
  • IT proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite and related systems).
  • Knowledge of WHS and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate IV or higher in Project Management, Business, or related field.
  • Current driver's licence and White Card (QLD).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • EWP & Working at Heights certifications (desirable).
  • Physical fitness and ability to meet site demands when required.
