About The Role

Reporting to the Group Manager - Commercial & Risk, the Senior Contracts Manager is accountable for the overall management of the contracts function throughout the project life cycle, once a head contract is executed for live projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creation of back-to-back contract terms to pass through head contract obligations to subcontractors
  • Provide handover to project team of contract documents
  • Assist with the review and negotiation of subcontractors and supplier agreements in line with company risk positions
  • Provide rights and obligations summary to project team
  • Set up process and templates for site teams'' strict compliance with contract notices
  • Review letters and contractual correspondence
  • Ensure systems in place for the management of subcontractors
  • Management of key project documentation/contracts
  • Provide assistance to project teams for management of disputes (including recognition of heads of claim, claims assessment and strength of position in line with contractual entitlements)
  • Assist in the development of strategies for successful resolution of disputes
  • Analyse and report on the success of disputes to inform decisions by senior management
  • Ensure compliance with the Delegation of Authority Matrix and the company commercial framework
  • Develop relationships with key commercial stakeholders
  • Develop plans to address project lessons learnt around the Commercial function and feedback to pre-contracts team.
  • Close out audit actions within specified timeframes
About you
  • At least 7 years+ experience in a similar role within the Australian Civil and infrastructure space
  • Degree qualified in Business Law, Construction Management, Commerce, Quantity surveying or similar - preferable
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role that encompasses the full project lifecycle, across multiple live contracts at any given time - A must
  • Demonstrated experience in dispute management - Highly regarded
  • Ability to travel to site on an ad hoc basis
  • Brings a positive, solution focused, results-oriented attitude.
  • Achieves cohesive and an effective team spirit
