About the Role
As the Lead – Training & Competency Verification, you will set the direction and oversee the operational delivery of training and competency programs for personnel engaged in high-risk activities. Reporting to the Manager – HSE Assurance, Reporting & Project, you will play a pivotal role in:
What you can expect with this role
- Lead end-to-end management of the VoC Program, ensuring alignment with operational, safety, and compliance objectives.
- Establish and maintain robust governance structures, policies, and quality assurance mechanisms.
- Collaborate with operational leaders, technical experts, and safety professionals to define and assess competency standards.
- Oversee the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of safety training programs.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including RTOs and regulatory authorities.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Training and Competency Verification team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Safety and/or Health (or related discipline) and a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent), or extensive relevant experience in a field-based operational role within a large, multi-disciplined organisation.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and risk management principles as they apply to training and competency frameworks
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, business communication, and relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change, and deliver results in complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSH and VET legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
- Experience managing budgets and resources, with a focus on service excellence and compliance.
