The Opportunity

We're seeking an Environmental Planning and Compliance Associate to support environmental risk mitigation, legislative compliance, and sustainability standards across ElectraNet's operations and projects. You'll have an opportunity to influence environmental outcomes and contribute to South Australia's clean energy future.

At ElectraNet we take environmental management seriously—not as a box-ticking exercise, but as a core part of how value is created and sustained in the business. This role is about more than compliance; it's about driving meaningful change and aspiring to do better every day.

You'll work closely with project teams, field advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure environmental controls are implemented and maintained. From native vegetation assessments to emergency response planning, your expertise will help shape responsible and sustainable practices.

About You

You're someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated by purpose-driven work. You bring a thoughtful approach to environmental planning and compliance, and you're comfortable navigating complex legislation and stakeholder relationships.

You may have:

  • A degree in Environmental Management, Policy & Management Science, or a related discipline.
  • Industry experience in environmental monitoring, vegetation and cultural heritage surveys, or sustainability practices (highly desirable)
  • Familiarity with environmental legislation
  • Knowledge and practical experience using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) (desirable).
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and write clear reports.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently when needed.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and travel, including remote area work.

We understand that not everyone's journey looks the same. If you bring transferable skills, a growth mindset, and a commitment to environmental stewardship, we encourage you to apply—even if you don't meet every criterion.

How To Apply

Please apply online via our careers page before Tuesday 16 September 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as interviews and appointments may occur prior to the closing date. Applicants can also register for job alerts via our careers page.

Successful applicant will be required to undergo background checks. These checks may include global criminal history checks, reference checks, and validation of qualifications, employment history, Australian work rights, and any additional checks depending on the role.

ElectraNet is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences—including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
