About The Roles
The roles are a vital part of the Parliamentary Counsel's Office (
PCO
) quality assurance processes for both the drafting and publication of legislation, ensuring that WA legislation is of the highest quality. You will use your editing and proofreading skills to quality assure draft legislation. You will also use your skills in internet publishing to assist in maintaining the WA legislation website by publishing new legislation and incorporating amendments into existing legislation. The Senior Legislation Officer role will also assist the Manager, Legislation and Publications in ensuring the efficient supervision of the editorial and publishing team.

About The Parliamentary Counsel's Office
PCO provides comprehensive legislative drafting and related services to the State Government, its departments and agencies. PCO also provides legislative drafting services to private Members of Parliament and facilitates the work of Parliamentary committees.

PCO publishes the legislation of Western Australia by hosting and maintaining the Western Australian legislation website, . PCO also provides a Bill management service to the WA Parliament through both in‑house resources and a contracted commercial printer, and makes printed copies of WA legislation available through that printer.

PCO offers an inclusive and supportive workplace, flexible working arrangements and challenging and fulfilling work at the heart of government providing legislative drafting services and related advice in relation to some of the most significant policy issues in Western Australia.

Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (at the time of application) or be in a reasonable position to obtain a visa to live or work indefinitely in Australia.

Opportunities to work remotely while remaining in home State/Country and applicants willing to work a fixed-term contract may be considered.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, full-time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however an appointment is not guaranteed.
