About the positions:
The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of plant and equipment within Toowoomba Regional Council. Plant Operators work on a range of construction and maintenance sites assisting with the delivery of various key projects.
- These are permanent full-time positions.
- The base salary is $34.18 gross per hour ($1,298.72 per week), plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- In addition to the base wage rate, variable allowances are available (for example - on call, overtime, construction allowance, wet weather).

About the Team:
The Logistics Operations Team provides a range of heavy vehicles, plant and equipment for internal wet or dry hire to the internal areas of Council. Plant Operators (Multiskilled) have the opportunity to work on an extensive range of job sites, from major construction to operational jobs, providing an opportunity to experience the varied works Council has to offer.
Essential Licences/Qualifications:
- Current 'HC' Class Driver's Licence.
- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent.
- Experience in operating related plant on construction sites, including truck operation.
Desirable Licences/Qualifications:
- Current 'MC' Class Driver's Licence.
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOCs or RII Competency for:
- 'LL' Front-End Loader (>2L engine capacity)
- 'LB' Front-End Loader Backhoe (>2L engine capacity)
- 'LE' Excavator (>2L engine capacity)
- 'LR' Road Roller (>2L engine capacity)
- 'LS' Skid Steer Loader (>2L engine capacity)
- Current Dogging (DG) High Risk Work Licence.
- You may be required to obtain one or more of these competencies within 6 months of commencement.
