Modern Data Platform Solution Architect

Long-term contract | ~$1,200 p.d. + GST | Hybrid (Sydney-based only)

Join a large international brand on a multi-year data transformation program. You'll shape and scale a modern data platform used enterprise-wide -powering analytics, AI/ML, and real-time decisioning.

What you'll do

  • Architect, evolve, and govern a Snowflake-centric modern data platform on AWS.
  • Define and implement integration patterns, performance, security, and cost optimisation.
  • Enable cross-functional personas (DS/DE/DA/BI/BA) with reusable frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines end-to-end.
  • Champion data management (MDM/RDM, data quality) and governance.
  • Partner with product, delivery, and business stakeholders to align tech to strategy.
  • Coach teams, uplift capability, and drive scalable ways of working across squads.

What you'll bring

  • 5-10 years working with cloud (preferably AWS).
  • 3+ years building/operating Snowflake at scale, including platform patterns and multi-team enablement.
  • 2+ years with modern data tooling across ingestion, transformation & orchestration—e.g. Fivetran, dbt, Coalesce, Astronomer, Airflow.
  • Strong grasp of MDM/RDM, data quality checks, and platform governance.
  • Desirable: Kafka (event streaming) and Alation (governance/catalogue).
  • Outstanding communication—able to translate deep technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic mindset—design tech that delivers business outcomes.
  • Experience across Agile and traditional delivery models.

The fine print

  • Rate: ~$1,200 per day + GST
  • Location: Sydney-based only (hybrid)
  • Engagement: Long-term contract with a tier-one international brand
