Senior/Principal Solution Architect | Sydney (Hybrid)

Overview

Allura Partners has been engaged to appoint a Solution Architect for a digital consultancy that partners with some of Australia's best-known businesses. This is a hands-on architecture role with the scope to influence end-to-end digital transformation programs across applications, cloud, and integration — with exposure to data and AI where projects require it.

This is not a "lift-and-shift" environment. Projects are cutting-edge, backed by global partnerships with AWS, Databricks, and other major vendors.

A digital consultancy with strong growth in Australia and long-standing partnerships across financial services, retail, utilities, telco, and public sector. They are recognised for delivering innovative, high-impact digital transformations, with accreditations from AWS, Databricks, and other major technology leaders. They are still relatively small in Australia and will be going through continuous growth

The Opportunity (What You'll Do)

  • Lead the design of end-to-end solutions that align with client business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Split your time between solution design/delivery and technical pre-sales: contributing to proposals, running PoCs/demos, and presenting solutions to clients.
  • Define and oversee architecture across cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, modern applications, and integration patterns.
  • Be hands-on where needed — building prototypes, validating solutions, or supporting delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with sales, product, design, and engineering to ensure solutions are both innovative and achievable.
  • Guide and mentor technical teams to uplift capability and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in technical pre-sales, supporting pitches, RFPs, and client demos.
  • Architect, document, and guide delivery of scalable and secure solutions across cloud, applications, and integration.
  • Provide governance and oversight during implementation, including reviews and backlog prioritisation.
  • Partner with clients to understand requirements, manage risks, and drive transformation.
  • Bring data and AI considerations into solution design where relevant, ensuring alignment with modern platforms and analytics capabilities.

About You (Skills & Experience)

  • 10+ years across software development and architecture.
  • Deep expertise in cloud (AWS preferred), APIs, microservices, and modern application design.
  • Exposure to data platforms and AI/ML integration in solution design, with the ability to advise where they add business value.
  • Strong client-facing skills, able to engage with senior stakeholders and present solutions clearly.
  • Experience mentoring teams and shaping delivery outcomes.
