In this role, you'll:
Working as part of our Fleet Maintenance team, this role will see you oversee testing, commissioning, modification, fault finding, removal and installation activities for Sydney Trains rolling stock systems—ensuring all are completed safely, economically and within required timeframes.

You will monitor the progress of the Test and Commissioning process, manage quality documentation, support safety initiatives, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to resolve issues.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include ordering parts, closing work orders in SAP, and managing labour hours in Excel or SAP.

You'll implement corrective actions, provide expert advice to engineering leaders, and support a culture of continuous improvement.

This is a permanent full-time position.

About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring at least three years' experience in a supervisory or managerial position, ideally within a testing and commissioning environment, with a total of 5–6 years in the electrical or mechanical field.

You're a qualified Engineer or a trade-qualified professional with strong electrical experience (15V and 120V systems preferred) and a solid track record in leading teams, meeting deadlines, working within budgets, and maintaining a high safety standard.

You have proven skills in fault finding, interpreting schematics, and diagnosing pneumatic system results. Your background includes testing and commissioning of plant and equipment (P&E), including in-transit systems.

You're confident guiding teams, sharing your technical knowledge, and driving results in high-pressure environments.
