Job reference number: 101966
Employment type: Permanent Full-Time
Salary range: $ $
You crave a career that pushes you, where you'll meet challenges head on and you're guaranteed to grow.
This is your opportunity to broaden your experience and perspectives, step out of the confines of a standard project role and expand your scope to work with an interconnected ecosystem of industry professionals.
In this role, you'll:
Join the Fleet Maintenance unit within Sydney Trains' Engineering and Maintenance Division, which is responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability and safety of rolling stock across the network.
You will provide engineering support for the operation and maintenance of railway rolling stock, supporting senior engineers and operational staff through technical analysis, specification development, warranty investigations, and quality improvement initiatives.
You will play a vital part in identifying and executing rolling stock product improvement opportunities, refining maintenance strategies, evaluating refurbishment practices, and recommending cost-effective technical solutions.
This role offers the chance to contribute to fleet reliability, safety, environmental performance, and customer satisfaction through strong technical foundations and collaborative delivery.

About you
You hold relevant tertiary engineering qualifications in electrical or mechanical or demonstrated, equivalent professional experience in a related area such as supply chain, rolling stock maintenance, defence, or aerospace engineering.
You have a strong foundation in engineering practice, particularly related to electric rolling stock maintenance, testing and commissioning requirements, and the ability to write or interpret technical specifications.
You bring experience in providing project support and technical services, ideally in safety-critical environments such as rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics, or similar heavy maintenance industries.
You understand and apply risk management processes and are aware of relevant codes of practice, standards, and regulations that govern the engineering and rail safety environment.
You are driven, collaborative, and committed to improving product performance, reducing cost, and enhancing safety across the rail network.
