This role is classified as Level L4 annual base salary $96,843- $106,688)  under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Department

The Audience Data & Insights Team, forms part of the Marketing Division. The team is continuously evolving the work we do, paving the way for SBS's audience-led, data and insights, for the benefit of all Australians. A team of passionate and curious researchers, we strive through creating opportunities through insights to tell stories.

The Role

Join SBS and help shape how we understand and serve Australia's diverse audiences. We're looking for an experienced Audience Research Manager to design and deliver innovative research projects that inform strategy, content, and engagement across the organisation.

Reporting into the Audience Research Manager, in this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of audience research projects across SBS, collaborating with the Audience Research team and stakeholders to identify priorities and support key business initiatives.
  • Manage research projects end to end — from scoping and survey design to data analysis and insight reporting.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive evidence-based decisions at all levels of the business.
  • Co-manage internal and external research platforms, ensuring they effectively support the research roadmap and bespoke project needs.
  • Contribute to the Multilingual Research Roadmap, including survey development, translation management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Track audience behaviour and media trends, sharing insights that strengthen SBS's audience understanding.
  • Stay ahead of emerging research tools and methodologies to enhance SBS's audience measurement capabilities.

About you

You have experience in market or audience research, with knowledge of the broadcast or media industries an advantage. Analytical and creative, you're passionate about understanding audiences and turning data into compelling stories that drive action. You're confident managing multiple projects and stakeholders, with strong quantitative and reporting skills that help you communicate clear, actionable insights. Detail-oriented and focused on quality, you bring accuracy, curiosity, and a commitment to supporting SBS's purpose and diverse audiences.
