As a Consultant Specialist Anaesthetist, you will lead and manage anaesthetic and perioperative services, train junior doctors, and contribute to research and innovation in regional anaesthesia.

Generous Salary & Benefits

  • Up to $496,915 per year
  • Attraction & Retention Allowance (50% of base salary)
  • Motor Vehicle Allowance ($21,000 - $25,500 p.a.)
  • Professional Development Allowance ($21, weeks leave)
  • 4-6 weeks annual leave + 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contributions

Responsibilities:

  • Provide anaesthesia services for complex elective and emergency cases.
  • Supervise and train anaesthetic registrars, fellows, and junior doctors.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments, pain management, and critical care consultations.
  • Support outreach services in rural and regional areas of North Queensland.
  • Engage in quality improvement, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent with AHPRA Specialist Registration.
  • Experience in general and complex anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and pain management.
  • Leadership, teaching, and mentorship skills.
  • Ability to work in regional and outreach settings.
