Where you'll be working
You will be working within a Health Service that services 10 rural hospitals and multi-purpose health facilities across the region.
You will be based at a 318-bed facility that is the main referral hospital in the region and is one of the most modern healthcare facilities in all of Queensland.
The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and has recently been redeveloped to expand its capacity as well as adding more operating theatres, a dedicated Coronary Care Unit, a larger Intensive Care Unit, new emergency and outpatients' departments, renal support services, day-oncology, dental services unit, and a support services building.
As Consultant Anaesthetist, you will provide the highest-quality anaesthetic services for orthopaedic, trauma, general, gynaecological, obstetric, paediatric, ENT, dental, ECT and endoscopic procedures.
You will contribute to the department's pre-assessment clinic service, acute pain service and obstetric epidural service.
You will also support the trauma and cardiac arrest teams.
This is an opportunity to lead and mentor a diverse team in this ANZCA-accredited department including house officers, interns, registrars, and provisional fellows.
Additionally, you will be fully supported and encouraged to enhance your expertise through ongoing medical education and skill development.

You will be living and working in a vibrant regional centre in tropical North Queensland with 270 sunny days per year.
This coastal region offers easy access to some of Australia's most beautiful natural attractions, including the iconic Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef.

Salary information
Consultant Anaesthetists can expect a total remuneration of up to $514,452, including a range of benefits and allowances.
Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
