About the Role
As a Construction Coordinator (SMP), you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating multiple contractor groups, ensuring compliance with client standards, safety legislation, and project specifications. You'll act as the key interface between contractors and client teams, and engineering service providers throughout all stages of the construction program.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate contractor teams executing SMP and civil scopes.
- Act as the client Responsible Person (ARP) ensuring EHS compliance.
- Manage worksite access, permits, and contractor interfaces.
- Ensure QA/QC processes are implemented and validated.
- Resolve technical queries and manage scope changes.
- Maintain safety compliance with WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
- Drive schedule adherence and budget control.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade qualification or technical experience in SMP or Civil.
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management (preferred).
- Completion of BSBWHS414 & BSBWHS411 (preferred).
- 10+ years in construction, with 5+ years in a similar role.
- Experience in mining or heavy industry (desirable).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SMP construction coordination, exceptional organisational and communication skills, and a proven commitment to workplace safety.
