In April 2023, our commitment to a sustainable future saw the beginning of the Dugald River Solar Farm operations, supplying a third of the mine's power, and reducing emissions by 33%; this is just the start of our renewable energy transition.

Health and Safety Advisor

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our SHEC team at MMG Dugald River operations. Reporting to the Superintendent – Health and Safety, you will be responsible for the delivery of Safety and Health activities onsite.

The role is available on a drive out basis (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa, or a fly in fly out basis (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane. The roster is eight days on and six days off (8/6). An attractive additional incentive is available to employees who live or move into the Cloncurry township.

Qualifications, Competencies & knowledge highly desired;

• Qualifications in a relevant Health and Safety discipline, (minimum Certificate IV in WHS).
• Mining Industry Supervisor S123 and demonstrated experience in implementing and managing Health and Safety Management Systems.
• Knowledge and application of Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Acts and Regulations.
• Experience as Lead Investigator (ICAM) is desirable.
• Manual Drivers Licence
• Demonstrated experience in similar roles with strong stakeholder relationship skills and a high level of understanding of Microsoft Office and SAP is desirable.

Some of your key responsibilities will include;

• Provide expertise to enhance onsite culture around safety, health, hygiene, and emergency response.
• Monitor and report on health and safety regulations, licenses, and standards.
• Conduct hygiene monitoring per site procedures.
• Implement health and safety management plans.
• Support safe work delivery and team/supervisor safety accountabilities.
• Drive safety, health, hygiene, and emergency response improvement projects.
• Maintain health and safety data and ensure proper reporting and verification.
