At Shore, our musicals are a celebrated tradition, a highlight of the calendar that brings together students, staff, families, and the wider community. We are seeking an experienced Set Designer to shape the stage for our 2026 Senior School Musical, continuing an artistic legacy of creativity and excellence that defines these productions.
From concept sketch to final build, you'll work closely with the Director, Producer, and creative team to create a stage environment that both supports performers and captivates audiences. This is your chance to showcase your artistry, technical skill, and collaborative flair in one of Shore's most anticipated events.
What You'll Do
- Develop and present design concepts (sketches, CAD drawings, models, mood boards, 3D CAD where possible).
- Ensure designs are safe, practical, and achievable within budget.
- Supervise the delivery and assembly of set elements.
- Provide training on the set operation.
- Collaborate on props sourcing and scenic artwork.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch a concept design for the 2026 production (guidelines provided).
Terms of Employment
- Engagement will be under a Contractor Agreement (ABN required).
- The role is structured around agreed design milestones, with additional scenic art or set construction work available by agreement.
- All onsite work must be carried out under staff supervision and in line with Shore's safety standards.
- The musical title will be shared with applicants as part of the application process.
The Senior School Musical is a celebrated Shore tradition, a highlight of the year that showcases creativity, excellence, and community spirit. This role is central to bringing that tradition to life.
