Due to growth, CADwalk is seeking an experienced Technical Project Lead to join our team of dedicated and skilled professionals. Position Overview:

As a Melbourne-based Technical AV & Control Room Specialist, you'll be involved in designing, installing, and supporting advanced KVM-over-IP and AV-over-IP solutions for critical environments across Australia and occasionally internationally.

You'll work on projects from initial requirements through to design, installation, configuration, and aftercare support. With a strong focus on quality and consistency, this role offers the opportunity to work with tier 1 clients and contribute to high-impact solutions in Control Room environments. Travel is expected to be approximately 25% depending on project needs.

This position suits someone with a strong IT and networking background who is great at dealing with clients face-to-face and is eager to broaden their experience. Plenty of training will be provided in the specialised KVM/AV products our clients use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design, delivery, and support of control room technologies (predominantly KVM / AV over IP, Videowalls and AV solution sets).
  • Install KVM AV equipment including KVM over IP, DvLED/LCD screens, audio systems, and network devices.
  • Lead and execute pre-sales activities, including client engagement, solution scoping, and technical input during discovery phases.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues to maintain seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with vendors across both implementation and support stages, ensuring timely communication and resolution of issue.
  • Configure and deploy technical, IT-based systems remotely and hands-on at client sites.
  • Design, configuration, testing (FAT/SAT), and transition to operations on client-facing projects.
  • Participate in on-call technical support roster including weekends and remote support.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams (Visio/CAD), and project records.
  • Help support internal IT needs.
  • Help coordinate travel, logistics, and procurement for project deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with CADwalk's ISO9001-aligned quality procedures and HSEQ standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to support project outcomes.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years working on IT-based projects.
  • Hands-on experience with KVM- and AV-over-IP technologies highly desirable.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field desirable (e.g. Networking, IT, Systems Engineering, AV)
  • Strong networking configuration and troubleshooting skills highly desirable (ICMP, Cisco switching/routing, LAN/WAN).
  • Experience working with tier 1 enterprise clients and in critical environments highly desirable.
  • Strong documentation and diagramming skills (Visio or equivalent; CAD knowledge a plus).
  • Crestron and Extron experience desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Licenses desirable: Working at Heights, EWP, Driver's License, Registered Cabler.
  • White Card and Police Clearance (can be obtained later if not already held).
