At Cowal, our substantial investment has led to a longer mine life as we have boldly reimagined our future to 2040. Located near West Wyalong in central New South Wales, Cowal is a residential site where we encourage our people to live nearby and enjoy the close-knit communities and lifestyles of the surrounding areas.

This roster is 7/7 continuous (7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off) with a 12 hour day.

About the Role

This is a role where your calm under pressure, leadership in the field, and commitment to safety will make a real difference. As our Emergency Response Advisor, you'll be the steady hand behind our site's emergency readiness, working with a capable team and modern equipment to keep people safe and prepared.

You'll report to the Senior Advisor – Health, Safety and Emergency Response, but your influence will be felt across the entire Cowal site (Underground, Open Pit, Processing Plant). From running weekly training sessions to leading site-wide emergency drills, you'll be the person everyone trusts when it matters most.

Here's what makes this role stand out:

• You'll lead a team of everyday heroes, operators, trades, and processing staff, who form our Emergency Response Team.
• You'll be hands-on with new equipment, real-world training, and site-wide safety systems.
• You'll be the cornerstone of our emergency preparedness, leading inspections, managing equipment, and ensuring we're always ready to respond.
• You'll have the autonomy to shape how we prepare, respond, and recover, because your expertise matters.

Whether you're a seasoned ESO, a paramedic ready for a new challenge, or a firefighter looking to apply your skills in mining, this is a role where you'll be valued, supported, and given room to grow.

About You
You're the kind of person who thrives in high-stakes environments. Not because you chase chaos, but because you know how to bring calm, order, and care when it counts. You've built your career on being ready, reliable, and respected.

You'll bring:

• Solid experience in emergency response, ideally in mining, oil and gas, or industrial settings
• Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Certificate IV in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Response or Occupational First Aid
• Confidence in leading training, managing equipment, and responding to incidents with professionalism
