Seeking an emergency response manager to ensure operational readiness, coordinate logistics and enhance Simtars' technical emergency response service.Key duties include:

- Leading the Mine Safety Technology Research Centre emergency response operational support and administration staff.
- Responsible for ensuring the management of assets, systems, and equipment for all MSTRC emergency response activities are maintained, including the Mobile Gas Laboratory maintenance and deployment, 3D laser scanning instruments and software maintenance, capital and asset management.
- Responsible for the emergency support service logistics and operations including on-call team rosters, coordination of logistics and finance during emergency response deployment, maintaining operational policies, procedures and risk assessments relating to all emergency response, communications with site and stakeholders for coordination emergency response logistics.
- Ensure emergency response service readiness
- Manage the commercial client engagement and licencing contracts.
- Manage all goods and services contracts associated with MSTRC Safegas, Camgas software and future system and software development.
- Provide broader business operational support to other MSTRC and research activities including budgeting, capital and procurement.
- Project management support including logístical and procurement activities for research and externally funded projects.
- Identify current and emerging corporate, financial and organisational issues which impact on MSTRCs effectiveness, service delivery and achievements and formulate proposals and/or recommendations that address financial, human resource and resource management issues

**Role requirements**:

- There are no essential requirements for this role however, experience in: leading operations, logistics, capital and asset management, project management and emergency response systems planning would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of the mining and resource industry emergency response and preparedness procedures would be desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in an operational management role.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating logistics and teams including experience with shift work, on call or after-hours roster arrangements.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement and asset management.
