We're recruiting a new team of casuals to support our Early Education Centres in a range of roles including educators, cooks, and cleaners.

About the Role

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking Early Childhood Teachers to join our Early Education & Child Protection team on a casual basis. In this role, you'll provide high-quality care and education for children from birth to six years, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing every day.

You'll also take on a key leadership role by guiding learning programs, mentoring educators and working closely with families to help each child thrive. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in our community.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design, planning, and delivery of high-quality, play-based learning programs for children aged 0–6 years.
  • Mentor and guide other educators to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a role model for pedagogical leadership and reflective practice.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's learning and development.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Current First Aid qualification (HLTAID012)
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Current Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025)
  • Current NESA Teacher Accreditation (Proficient Teacher level or above).
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families and colleagues.
  • A commitment to inclusive practices and supporting children with diverse needs.

  • Package: $64 - $68 gross per hour plus 12% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Casual hours. Applicants must be able to work a range of shifts from 6am - 7pm.
