Quality Assurance Team Leader

In alignment with the Myer Merchandise Strategy, as a
Quality Assurance Team Leader,
you will support and drive the delivery of the Quality Assurance (QA) and category strategy by providing technical advice and expertise in areas of quality, fit, sourcing, compliance and trend. You will champion collaborative working with Category Buyers, Product Developers, Suppliers and all key stakeholders to optimise product quality, the production process and financial returns to the business.

About the Role:
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of Garment Technologists, providing guidance and technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain detailed product specifications for Agents/Suppliers with clear instruction relating to fit/size, workmanship, quality and construction details.
- Lead and conduct fit sessions, analysing and resolving fit and construction issues with team members and suppliers.
- Provide technical advice on fabric selection, construction methods, and production processes to balance quality and cost.
- Ensure all approved apparel products meet legal, safety, and company standard requirements, by making commercial judgments in relation to products.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including Buying, Design & Sourcing team
- Act as the key technical liaison between Myer's internal teams and external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the technical and quality assurance function to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in garment technology and manufacturing.
About You:
- In depth knowledge of fabrics, pattern making and garment construction
- At least 5 years' experience in a Senior Technical role, preferably within a large retail environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Technology or equivalent
- Broad industry experience, knowledge of production & fabric trends
- Ability to communicate with influence and collaborate respectfully at all levels, as well as building positive relationships with various stakeholders
- Ability to drive a culture of high performance within teams
- Strong Fitting skills and eye for detail, can apply knowledge outside scope of own role
- Ability to remain calm and engaged under pressure
- Experience in developing and delivering product and brand initiatives
