DUTY MANAGER- Cafe and Operations Focus (Full-Time)

About the role

An exciting full-time opportunity exists for a Duty Manager to take charge of the day-to-day operations at the vibrant West Pennant Hills Sports Club. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee a passionate team of hospitality professionals, manage the Club's café operations, and deliver an exceptional experience for our valued members and guests.

This role requires availability across Friday to Tuesday each week.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage daily operations of the Club, ensuring a seamless member and guest experience
  • Oversee all café operations, including stock management, inventory control, and food safety compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all Club policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
  • Provide exceptional customer service, proactively resolving guest issues and concerns
  • Lead, train, and motivate staff to consistently deliver high standards of service, presentation, and cleanliness
  • Monitor financial performance, including cash handling, daily reconciliations, and inventory management
  • Plan and assist in the execution of Club events, promotions, and operational initiatives
  • Monitor and report on key operational and financial performance indicators to support business growth
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Duty Manager or senior hospitality management role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire
  • Demonstrated experience in café operations, food stock management, and food safety practices
  • Current NSW Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (FSS Certificate)
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) certifications
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to professionally resolve issues
  • Sound financial management and inventory control experience
  • Solid understanding of hospitality industry regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work across Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
