Technical Manager- NSW

Trane has an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Manager- NSW based in Seven Hills, Sydney with an original equipment manufacturer. Trane Technologies is the exclusive manufacturer and service division for Trane, with direct access to the Trane factory, technical literature, training and spare parts. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your role is to be responsible for chiller Service Team training and development of Junior to Senior technicians, site leads and quote training and generation, warranty and commissioning of chillers, and associated process and document control for Sydney and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Accountable for the delivery of the Team Service Sales and deployment strategy across NSW and the effective collaboration between all Service offices

• Responsible for establishing and driving the Service sales and deployment activities to drive the growth of the Service results in line with the overall AOP targets

• Responsible for ensuring all Service systems and processes maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the function to include the use of TSC and assist with technician absorption control

• Continuous Improvement, instrumental in introducing key initiatives to drive innovation and growth in the Service team

• Driver of all EHS and company initiatives within the function and responsible for Country specific general and industry regulated compliance to include risk assessments

• Oversee the development and capabilities of the Chiller Service team.

• Assess and address skills gaps to ensure optimal support for customers.

• Line management and development responsibility for local Service Operations Leaders and Service Sales Team Leaders and any other direct or dotted line reports to include working within Talent Management Frameworks and to Trane Talent deadlines (if required)

• Maintain a balance of 50% productive hours booked to jobs and 50% non-productive hours

• Effective management of sub-contractor relationships and co-ordination

• Travel as necessary to learn more about Trane products and new technologies, serving as a train-the-trainer.

• Any other ad hoc duties reasonably requested by your line manager

To be successful for this role ideally you will have

• Experience/exposure to commercial HVAC Chillers
• Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• Valid Driver's License
• Construction Induction Card (white card)
• Current ARC Licence
• Experience in A/C maintenance and Installations of all types
• Good time management and customer service skills
• Technical competence
• Ability and confidence to work with and manage the team
• Positive and proactive approach to safety
