About The Role
As a Media Senior Advisor, you'll lead media and external affairs initiatives that enhance and protect Water Corporation's reputation. You'll craft compelling communication materials, manage media relations, and support strategic messaging across the organisation.

What You Can Expect With This Role

  • Develop high-quality media statements, speeches, talking points, and key messages.
  • Respond promptly to media enquiries, coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Advise senior leaders on media and public relations matters affecting customers, stakeholders, and brand.
  • Support communication during operational incidents and organisational issues.
  • Translate complex information into clear, engaging messages for diverse audiences.
  • Identify and coordinate proactive media opportunities, including liaison with the Office of the Water Minister.
  • Maintain media records, compile analytics reports, and distribute coverage summaries.

Your Skills And Experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Tertiary qualification in journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in media liaison, including generating coverage and managing enquiries.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex topics.
  • Strategic media insight and a strong sense for newsworthy stories.
  • Experience in incident or crisis communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
