About the Role
As part of the Counter Fraud and Financial Crimes team, you will be responsible for Fraud Intelligence insights; both operational and tactical for suspected and or actual fraud responses and also monitor organisational fraud controls to ensure our people and business are set up to identify and manage fraud related risks.
The Counter Fraud and Financial Crimes Intelligence Analyst plays a critical role in protecting the organization's people, assets, information, and operations. This position focuses on the proactive identification and management of threats, supporting the timely response to incidents, and ensuring effective risk mitigation across the Hollard enterprise. The Intelligence Analyst (specialist) will operate within the general insurance industry context, with a strong emphasis on operational and tactical intelligence.
Key Responsibilities will include (however, not limited to the below):
Reporting to the Team Manager – Fraud Intelligence and Controls, your primary responsibility and that of your team will include, but not limited to;
Operational Fraud Intelligence - Providing Investigative teams using hyptotheeses and inferences concerning specific elements of fraudulent activity of any sort which harms Hollard interests and or financial performance.
Tactical Fraud Intelligence – efficiency and effectiveness with which we collect, collate, analyse, produce, store, disseminate, collaborate and share intelligence supporting Investigation incident management and response to identified threats
Completing threat assessments via the collecting, analyzing and acting on data to identify operational threats focused on sharing relevant information that can be used to inform decision-making initiatives against Policy, Claims, Identiy takeover and other systemic and or organised fraud group or opportunistic threats. This variety of threat intelligence uses a variety of sources to gather data which can include geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), open-source intelligence (OSINT), and signals intelligence (SIGINT).
Compared to other forms of threat intelligence, with focus on short and medium-term threats, vulnerability and emerging trends that may indicate a significant risk of attack against Hollard.
Completing daily review of Insurance Fraud Bureau of Australia – IntellBank alerts and responses.
To remain knowledgeable and exploit trends of unwanted behaviours in reducing Hollard risk exposure, using multiple forms of intelligence-gathering measures.

About You
Master's or bachelor's degree or in a relevant field such as Intelligence Analysis, criminology, or legal discipline.
Proven experience in conducting fraud intelligence analysis, or related fields, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
Sound knowledge of fraud detection techniques, investigative methodologies and relevant legislation.
Experience in General Insurance operations (underwriting, claims and or financial risks) is an advantage.
Proficiency in using intelligence analysis tools, data analytics software (AI) and case management systems.
Proficiency in computer programming and ability to write code (artificial Intelligence) and develop fraud problem statement/s for machine learning, predictive modelling for fraud risks. SAS or SQL SaaS programming skills are highly regarded.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from complex information and make informed decisions
