About the Role
We are seeking a female Disability Support Worker in Springfield Lakes to support a young individual with complex medical and behavioural needs.
You'll be providing support with:
Medical & Personal Care: Assisting with medication, hygiene, and personal care routines
Daily Living: Meal preparation and monitoring
Engagement & Independence: Encouraging autonomy and meaningful activities
Behavioural Support: Managing and de-escalating behaviours such as absconding, self-harm, verbal aggression, or non-compliance
Health Monitoring: Recording and reporting any changes in wellbeing
Client Diagnoses & Needs include:
Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
PTSD, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, GAD, Depression
Behavioural challenges including threats, intimidation, non-compliance, self-harm, and suicidal ideation
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Compassionate & Patient – able to build trust and provide respectful support
Calm & Resilient – confident in managing high-pressure situations and de-escalating behaviours
Experienced in Complex Care – ideally with exposure to conditions like Huntington's Disease, schizophrenia, high falls risk, or incontinence care
Safety-Focused – able to supervise high-risk activities and keep clients safe
Strong Communicator – empathetic, clear, and consistent
What You'll Need
Cert III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or Community Services
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Employee Working with Children Check
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Valid Australian Driver's License + comprehensively insured, reliable vehicle
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
Proven experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours and medical needs
