About the role:

Reporting to the Enterprise Domain Architect, this is a fabulous opportunity to lead, co-ordinate, manage, monitor and govern portfolio of architecture & design work in partnership within the Digital business unit at EnergyAustralia. Responsibilities include:

  • Design cloud-native digital solutions on AWS – architect scalable, resilient, and secure solutions to support customer-facing applications, portals, APIs, and integration layers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business current state and desired future state and communicates with business stakeholders on technology solutions in a business context
  • Recommend solutions that improve cost effectiveness and flexibility of the portfolio
  • Reviews, provides analysis, position and response to technical papers as requested by Head of Architecture or Enterprise Architects
  • Promote adoption of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, API-first design, and automation within digital solution delivery.
  • Assess emerging technologies (AI, data, customer engagement platforms, etc.) and recommend opportunities for innovation in the digital space.

You'll need experience handling large scale builds and deployments, complicated architecture that covers microservices, containers and clusters within Cloud. This role will be instrumental to deliver our technology solution roadmap by utilising your experience and skills in the following areas;

  • Tertiary qualification in IT or related discipline, or relevant experience (Cloud Certificates desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience with solution architecture construction and management across multiple domains in a similar sized organization
  • Proven track record delivering solutions across digital channels (web, mobile, APIs, portals, customer self-service, CRM, marketing tech)
  • Proven experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures, with a preference for those built on AWS cloud environments
  • A software engineering mindset with experience in development and delivery of architecture, specifically across business systems and processes and applications
  • Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management capability with the ability to negotiate win-win outcomes for various stakeholder groups
  • Experience working within Agile or DevOps environments is beneficial
  • Highly collaborative, consultative and ability to work across cross-functional teams
  • Awareness of industry trends, energy retail operations, and how digital technologies can enhance customer engagement and experience
