About the Role
Are you ready to take the lead on shaping the future of public transport? We're looking for a proactive and driven Project Manager to manage low to medium risk projects that expand and maintain our Bus and Ferry network. You'll lead diverse teams of in-house experts and private sector professionals, driving impactful projects that make a real difference across the Public Transport Authority.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the full delivery of infrastructure projects, including planning, budgeting, design input, scheduling, and risk management, ensuring compliance with the PTA's Project Management Framework.
- Oversee contract management activities such as procurement, tendering, contract administration, and dispute resolution to maintain project progress and budget control.
- Lead and support project teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups, to ensure clear communication and alignment of project objectives.
- Support continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned, reviewing project performance, and contributing to divisional policies and strategies.

About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, with eligibility for Professional Membership of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven contract management experience.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead, mentor, and coach team members.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, negotiate outcomes, and resolve conflicts.
- Proficiency with relevant systems and software required to perform the duties of this role efficiently.

There is currently one 24-month, fixed term opportunity available for the possibility of renewal and/or permanency to a maximum period. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.
