About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Possession of Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent Engineering Discipline, that is acceptable for membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Sound understanding of permanent way design and experience in applying Australian design standards and codes in producing the permanent way designs.
  • Relevant technical expertise, including relevant project management, contract management, systems engineering and engineering assurance experience.
  • Well-developed skills in building and maintaining effective relationships with a range of stakeholders (internal and external) including the ability to provide specialist advice at all levels.
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve complex problems.

There is currently one fixed term opportunity available 30 June 2028, with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months

To be eligible to work at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid work visa until 30/06/2028.
