In collaboration with the Queensland State Government, Emanate Technology is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to drive critical improvements in HR and payroll systems. This 12-month contract supports a series of initiatives aimed at ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and advancing strategic workforce practices. You'll work in an agile environment with a continuous delivery mindset, contributing to meaningful, year-on-year change.

What you'll be doing

  • Scoping user and business needs across HR and payroll functions
  • Engaging stakeholders to understand and translate their requirements into actionable outcomes
  • Reviewing existing workflows and identifying ways to optimise and streamline them
  • Producing clear and concise artefacts such as user stories, process diagrams, wireframes, and test documentation
  • Collaborating with developers and QA teams to confirm the solution aligns with expectations
  • Supporting end-to-end testing activities with subject matter experts and test leads
  • Assisting with rollout planning and encouraging adoption of new ways of working
  • Contributing to documentation for project governance, including updated business cases
  • Capturing and communicating the value of improvements through measurable benefits
What you need to bring
  • Experience delivering business analysis across HR or payroll-related projects
  • Proven success engaging stakeholders to gather and define business requirements
  • A track record of producing high-quality documentation such as user stories and process models
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA and Visio for requirement tracking and process mapping
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Agility in adapting to shifting project needs and evolving business priorities
  • Strong attention to detail when documenting, reviewing, and validating solutions
