As a Senior Director, Business Development & Commercialisation you will:

  • Lead and collaborate with key stakeholders across Deakin to achieve shared goals and drive collective success.
  • Champion innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement in alignment with the University's Strategic Plan and functional strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with research leaders and industry to enhance Deakin's reputation and strategic opportunities.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the Business Development and Commercialisation team, fostering collaboration, capability growth, and innovation.
  • Oversee effective communication, accountability, and reporting to ensure initiatives align with strategic priorities and deliver measurable outcomes

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience at the appropriate level, with a proven record of delivering strategic initiatives that drive measurable impact.
  • Strong leadership, people, and resource management skills, including the ability to build high-performing teams and lead organisational change.
  • Deep understanding of contemporary discipline trends and the capability to apply innovative strategies that advance organisational objectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • A flexible, results-focused approach, demonstrating sound judgement, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in complex, fast-paced environments.
