In 2024, the organisation supported over 12.9 million people through community-led programs that empower women and men across Africa, South Asia and Latin America to sustainably end their own hunger.

The Opportunity

The Hunger Project Australia (THPA) is seeking an experienced, purpose-driven leader to take on the role of Head of Partnerships.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO, this senior position leads the organisation's national partnerships strategy, driving growth across corporate, SME and philanthropic partnerships. The role is responsible for strengthening existing relationships, building new partnerships, and enhancing THPA's reputation and reach.

The Head of Partnerships will also contribute to broader organisational strategy, budgeting, and board reporting while leading a small, passionate team dedicated to ending world hunger.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

  • Lead, nurture and grow a national portfolio of partners to meet and exceed fundraising targets.
  • Strengthen engagement with existing partners through tailored communication, events and collaborative initiatives.
  • Develop investment proposals and secure multi-year partnership commitments.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Impact teams to ensure outstanding partner stewardship and brand alignment.

Business Development

  • Identify, pitch and acquire new corporate and philanthropic partners across diverse sectors.
  • Manage a robust prospect pipeline and implement campaigns to attract and convert new partners.
  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations to inspire long-term support and investment.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor and empower the Partnerships team to achieve and exceed individual and collective KPIs.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, board reporting and annual budgeting processes.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across partnership programs and engagement activities.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an engaging and strategic leader who thrives on building authentic connections and delivering tangible results. They will bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in fundraising, communications, business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years' experience in partnership development, fundraising or business development, with a strong record of achieving revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure and grow relationships across corporate and community sectors.
  • Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and project management capabilities.
  • A proactive, energetic and entrepreneurial approach, underpinned by genuine passion for social impact and ending hunger.

Experience with CRMs such as Raiser's Edge and project management tools (e.g. Asana, Box) will be highly regarded.
